About The Teacher:

Rachel, 17, is a current junior at Gunn High School. She has been writing since elementary school and has extensively written pieces in the fiction, memoir, and poetry genres. Her work has been awarded a gold key by Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and two honorable mentions from the Ringling College; additionally, her work has been published or is forthcoming in multiple online literary journals and she is a co-founder of Anser Journal. In her free time, she performs spoken word poetry at local cafes. She has also been a private tutor and frequently works with children through her job at the YMCA. She loves creating art and is thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with young writers!

About The Class:

This class will expose students to different genres of creative writing and allow young writers to master the basics, explore more advanced topics, and begin to adopt their own unique style.

Age Range:

8-12 years old.

Pen and paper.
